We are seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (APRN/PMHNP) to become our first prescriber and help us bring this vision to life.
Position Overview This role focuses on psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management for clients in Connecticut. The APRN will collaborate closely with therapists to support integrated care.
This is a first-of-its-kind role for our practice, and we’re proud of that. We’re not looking for someone to slot into an existing system; we’re looking for a clinician who is energized by the opportunity to help build one. You will work alongside the team to establish clinical protocols, referral workflows, and prescriber infrastructure as we grow. If you’ve ever wanted a seat at the table from day one, this is it.

This is a two-year W2 position with flexible scheduling. While Connecticut licensure is required, candidates who are also licensed in New York are welcome. At this time, the role will focus on Connecticut-based clients while the practice evaluates regulatory considerations for potential future expansion into New York.
Key Responsibilities • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and establish diagnoses • Develop and manage treatment plans, including medication management • Prescribe medications in accordance with Connecticut and federal regulations • Order and review laboratory work as clinically indicated • Provide ongoing follow-up care and adjust treatment as needed • Respond to clinically appropriate patient communications between sessions, including medication-related questions and refill requests • Manage prescription refills and time-sensitive medication needs, with appropriate planning for coverage during time off • Collaborate closely with therapists to ensure coordinated, integrated care • Help establish and refine clinical protocols, referral workflows, and prescriber infrastructure • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in SimplePractice • Participate in weekly team meetings • Contribute to practice visibility through professional networking, community engagement, and practice initiatives such as blog articles or educational content
Qualifications • Active Connecticut APRN license with independent practice authority (required) • Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) • Active DEA license and Connecticut Controlled Substance Registration • Experience providing psychiatric care in an outpatient setting • Strong clinical judgment and ability to work both independently and collaboratively • Experience with telehealth and electronic medical record systems
Schedule & Work Environment • Fully remote, telehealth-based role • Flexible scheduling with autonomy to design your own clinical hours • Weekly virtual team meetings, with optional in-person connection for local clinicians
Compensation & Structure • W2 position with fee-for-service compensation • Stipends for approved trainings and professional development • Initial contract period of two years, with opportunity for long-term growth within the practice
